This past winter Caley Vanular joined teammates Jody Wachniak and Garret Warnick on a snowmobile trip deep into the expansive backcountry of British Columbia.
With variable weather, large snowfalls and temperature spikes, using their collective knowledge they navigated terrain and fluctuating avalanche conditions to find some of the best conditions of the season.
The days started in the dark with the team meeting up in the parking lot — breakfast sandwiches in tow. When the coffee drinking and morning chit-chat was over it was straight to work, unloading sleds off the truck, packing up the gear and hitting the logging road.
Each day the team headed to a new location with a new objective, stopping to make a fire or warm up in a backcountry hut along the way. They spent all day searching for big cliff drops, massive pillow lines or dreamy slopes with untouched powder… and definitely found what they were looking for
