Occy’s Grom Comp is recognised as the world’s most prestigious event for kids aged 16 and under. Now in its 18th year this event lures the best young talent from all over the globe who travel to Australia to compete in three divisions (Boys and Girls U/12, U/14, U/16) for the title of Occy Grom Comp Champion. It truly is junior surfing’s Grom Holy Grail.
Traditionally held in the punchy beach breaks of Duranbah the Occy Grom Comp will create history in 2023 by being held at one of the world’s most famous breaks at Snapper Rocks. Snapper is home to countless World Champions and played a major role as the opening event of the elite WSL World Championship Tour for over a decade. It will also be home to surfing’s Olympic competition in 2032 for the Brisbane games. You can bet all eyes will be on the kids in this year’s event as they could very well be representing their country on the very same canvas in 9 year’s time.
The Billabong Occy's Grom Comp is proudly supported by Snapper Rocks Surfriders Club, Kirra Surf, JS Surfboards, Sun Bum, Creatures of Leisure, Surf Lakes, S&S Group, Mophie, Kustom Footwear, Rainbow Bay Surf Club & Stryker Media.
