For the better part of his decades-long career, Billabong ambassador and outdoor photographer/filmmaker Chris Burkard has focused his lens on the less-trodden paths — more often than not in some of the most extreme cold climates on the planet. Now with more than 50 trips to Iceland under his belt, Chris naturally found a deep connection to the Icelandic surfing community and their stories. This new short film features talented Icelandic photographer, surfer and former kayaker, Elli Thor - and how a near death kayaking experience became a catalyst for personal growth and his professional career.
